On-Grid or Grid Tied Solar

An On-Grid or Grid -Tied solar panel system is simply a solar energy system that is connected to the local utility grid. The On -Grid solar systems are suitable for residential and commercial use depending on the load requirements. These systems send excess power generated by the solar power system to the utility and consumers get compensated for the extra power fed back. When there is not enough sunlight to meet your business needs the system runs on the power supplied by the grid. These systems are best suitable when your power consumption is high, and you wish to reduce your electricity bills. The photovoltaic (PV) solar panels absorbs sunlight as a source of energy to generate direct current (DC) electricity. The power produced is fed into an inverter which will change the DC power to AC power in line with the requirements of the local utility grid provider. There are few key components used in the On-Grid solar solution such as photovoltaic (PV) panel arrays, Grid-Tie inverter, power meter and the electrical wirings.

Applications

Business or homes can rely on On-Grid solar systems to meet their daily electricity requirements as well as to earn income from the excess power generated. On bright sunny days, buildings can generate enough solar energy to power appliances, lights, water heating systems etc…

Advantages

  • Residential users & commercial owners can earn a passive income for the surplus energy generated by the system
  • On-Grid solar systems are very cost effective and easy to install
  • Business can recoup the cost of their investment by offsetting electricity bills in just 3-5 years
  • No batteries for storage of electricity
  • Low maintenance as solar panels need cleaning only and inverters last for 10 years
  • Save money with Net-Metering

Off-GridSolar

Off-Grid systems work independently of the grid but have batteries which can store the solar power generated by the system. The photovoltaic (PV) solar panels generates direct current and stores in the battery during the day and meets the power needs of the night. The system usually consists of photovoltaic (PV) panel arrays, batteries, grid box, inverter, mounting structure and related wirings. These systems are self-sustaining and can provide power for critical loads in areas where a power grid is not available.

Applications

Off-Grid solar systems can facilitate independent, long-term and sustainable electricity generation and supply in rural and remote areas. A several places face frequent power failures, due to power transmission malfunction which can hamper productivity and operations of companies and public institutions. Off-Grid solar systems can provide an economical and viable long-term backup solution to overcome the problems occurring during frequent power shutdowns.

Advantages

  • These self-sustainable systems can work independently and do not rely on the grid
  • They generate enough power that can be stored and used at night or when the power grid is down
  • These are ideal for remote areas where there is no power access from the grid
  • Grid failures and shutdowns will not affect your power supply
  • The government is offering several benefits as well as tax rebates to business which shifts to renewable solar energy systems
  • Solar power systems are a source of clean renewable energy and have numerous benefits depending on the type of system implemented.

HybridSolar

Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as a common Grid-tied solar system but use special hybrid inverters and batteries to store energy for late use. We can say Hybrid solar systems are a combination of On-Grid and Off-Grid systems. The ability to store energy enables most hybrid systems to operate as a backup power supply during power failures or blackout situations. The systems usually consist of photovoltaic (PV) panel arrays, charge controller, batteries, hybrid inverters, mounting structures and related wirings.

Applications

Business and home users can benefit from hybrid solar systems in terms power independence and cost savings on power usage. This is an ideal solution for customers who wants to take advantage of the utility off peak rates.

Advantages

  • Allows you to store excess solar or low-cost electricity (off peak)
  • Allows use of stored solar energy during peak evening time.
  • Hybrid inverters have backup power capability
  • Reduces power consumption from the grid
  • Enables advanced energy management
